Hello Everyone,
My name is Kelvenia Edwards. I am honored to be a 5th grade teacher at Kay R. Pace. This will be my 13th year teaching in Clayton County Public Schools and my 2nd at Kay R. Pace. I was born and raised in Georgia. I received my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Albany State University. Later on I obtained a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Capella University.

My family and I reside in Clayton County. I have 3 awesome children, 2 girls and 1 boy that I would move the earth for. My son Adrian is 16 and he is an 11th grader at Jonesboro High School. My oldest daughter Adrielle is 9 and she is a 4th grader at Kay R. Pace. My youngest daughter Ariane is 7 and she is a 2nd grader at Kay R. Pace as well.
I enjoy shopping, spending time with my family and exposing my own children and the children I teach to the world around them. I love working with children and ensuring that they reach their dreams through education. I believe every child should be valued and treated with respect. Education should empower children and help them to make positive contributions to our world. I have worked in Title I schools my whole career, which has inspired me to expose our children to our ever changing world.
As a teacher, my goals are to encourage and inspire all students in and out of the classroom. I try to let them know that they are capable of achieving their goals, and they shouldn’t be ashamed of their insecurities and imperfections. I exceed all expectations as it pertains to providing a quality experience to any student, in and out of the classroom.
One of my favorite quotes is that “6+3=9 but so does 5+4...The way you do things is not always the only way to do them...Respect other people's way of thinking.” I pass this information on to my students every day, and push them to reach their highest potential. Last but not least, let's get ready for an awesome school year.
