Mrs. Hagood

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Hillhouse-Hagood

I am Erica Jean Hillhouse-Hagood. I am called, "Mrs. Hagood."
I am a mother of daughter Ann and wife of Marty Hagood.
I have been teaching since the year 2000.
When I started my college career, my major was that of music education. Through the journey at Georgia Southern University, I saw where there were limited music teaching opportunities.  I decided to go back to my first love of teaching elementary. Therefore, I completed my Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood with a minor in Music Education.
When I came back home to Columbus, Georgia, I taught Pre-K at Childcare Network for a year. Then I was able to teach Kindergarten in Meriwether County, Georgia on two separate occasions, First Grade in Chambers County, Alabama, eight years in Troup County, and found my way into the best school in Clayton County, Kay R. Pace School of the Arts, formerly James A. Jackson Elementary.  Here at Kay R. Pace, I was able to represent our school, as Jackson, for the International Alliance for Invitational  Educational Award. Our school was the first one in Georgia to receive such an honor.
I am now the Tech Liaison for our school. Our county has moved to the Google G Suite and I train teachers and help students, as well, throughout our building.
I was pleased to be able to bring my daughter, Ann to my school since she was in Kindergarten. Because of the great fine arts team and their training, my daughter has been in many school productions. This has given her the confidence she has needed to be in 3 YouTube movies and found herself an agent!

I am very grateful for my administration for giving me this opportunity to teach here at Kay R. Pace Elementary, School of the Arts.  I am proud to say that I am a member of the faculty and your child's teacher!
Here is my Bitmoji Classroom!
